We live in a crazy Modern world in which I think we can all agree…yet we still have the needs we have always had.. survival , provision for our loved ones, to live in peace, happiness and abundance and maybe even leave our mark on the world..it's human, it's who we are..
That's why we get up each morning and that's why we bravely decide to get into the harsh world of sales ..it's an opportunity to fulfill our dreams where so many other industries just want cogs to add to the machine; in sales there can be liberation.
But what if the road to happiness and success in sales travelled by most people leads nowhere except to a scrap yard of debt, frustration and burnout before exiting to get a J.O.B?
My path is different, I want you to be confident on calls, relaxed when you are away from work and healthy enough to feel alive and connected to the world and with the stamina to be a rep for years to come and that doesn't come by just learning how to sell alone and then adding dubious layer over dubious layer to your delivery as the guru of the day promises the next gimmick to guarantee your sales success.
But there is a way to be happy and successful in sales , it's not the push button easy way that you get spoon fed by people with shiny teeth and wearing their baseball hats back to front.
Being Confident, Content whilst enjoying your sales gig comes from 5 core things:
1.Doing a job that is fulfilling your needs and paying you enough so that you feel safe and you can live in the manner you wish.
2.Being confident in being able to sell through having processes you know like the back of your hand so that fast balls and erratic close rates and the stress they cause are removed from your life.
3.Having a body free of physical, emotional and mental toxicity.
4.A body that is harmonized through a functional nervous system whilst being sustained through good supply of oxygen, nutrients , prana energy and quality rest.
5.Life balance that allows you to stay deeply connected to our loved ones and yourself whilst giving you time to enjoy the journey instead of just constantly being stuck on the treadmill.
But no one really teaches this in the sales coaching world because you can't cram it into a course and mass sell it because it's not sexy and implementing it with a client takes time, dedication and energy.
But the truth is that below a sales reps name badge or zoom profile is a human being with different strengths and weaknesses, their own dream life, their own opportunities to get there but with their own set of challenges be it skill set or internal blockers that are stopping them... but how can you mass sell a solution that will work for that individual human? ... you cant... that's why so many gurus just pick up a shovel, put some spin on it and throw in a map to the Klondike for good measure offering a solution that veils their eventual demise…so just don't do it.
There is however a way you can have the success you want ... it involves learning and adopting things you kinda knew in your heart you needed to do but there was so much noise you just didn't know where to start….it means coming off the treadmill and focusing on YOU and not endlessly consuming brain candy hoping it will get you to your dreams ... but it can be done.. when the right person understands you and has a desire to do the work to see you soar.
